Message from Supreme Master Ching Hai during Loving the Silent Tears

Greetings and love!

My sincere thanks to all who give your
heart to this music assembly. Congratulations to you and the audience
for this rare and joyful event.

It is good that we still can
celebrate in whichever way to beautify life on Earth as given by God. It
is good that we still love, still enjoy, still share our goodness with
all that coexist in this world and the next. It is good that we still
believe in everything that is noble and positive, and Heavenly power
will definitely prevail.

To all involved in this musical event,
blessed be your dedication to make this world a more enjoyable place,
cheering up the mass and giving thanks to Heaven and Earth in this way.
Though I couldn’t possibly watch the event, and though I am not aware of
the content of the program in advance, I trust that it will be great,
and all who watch will enjoy it hugely.

Sorry that there is no
high tech where I do intensive meditation at present, so this simple
message will serve to convey my gratitude to you all and wishes for your
success and happiness.

As a token of love, I share with you good
news—maybe just to help pacify all worrying hearts, all hearts that are
concerned about the survival and wellness of all in this world.

That
good news is our planet will still be blessed to exist for 10,000 years
more to come and will continue, depending on our goodness in the
future. And for that, praised be God. Thanks to all co-inhabitants’
loving prayers and contributions in different aspects. As for my humble
self, I also continue the best to support our common united endeavor to
save this planet for this generation and countless next.

Enjoy the show; thank you all again! May God bless the universe and protect our world.

Love you!

global warming, animals’ suffering, vegan laws, world peace, and more.

Mr. Bean praised Supreme Master Ching Hai
as an early voice that has lead the way on promoting the vegan diet as the best
solution to climate change. He noted
that more and more people around the world including religious leaders, world
leaders, and common folks, have since joined the vegan trend. Mr. Bean himself, a long-time spiritual
practitioner, was so inspired by Supreme Master’s words that he changed from a
lacto diet into a pure plant-based one.

Mr. Bean asked Supreme Master Ching Hai how
she came to know about the link between the relationship between people’s
meat-eating habit and our current climate woes.
She indicated that through intuitive inner knowledge and visions, she
had seen the devastating consequences in the form of natural disasters caused
by greenhouse gases such as methane and carbon, a great proportion of them from
the billions of livestock that humans slaughter yearly to satisfy their palate.
Her inner knowledge was then supported
by numerous scientific studies that she personally researched.

livestock. Their meticulously researched

In
her book From Crisis to Peace,
Supreme Master Ching Hai uses fact-based data to show that when humans
eliminate meat and dairy from their diet, this simple act will quickly remove 37%
of the short-lived greenhouse gases such as methane (72 times more potent than
CO2) and 65% of nitrous Oxide (296 times more potent than CO2) from the
atmosphere. Then, by restoring the land currently used for grazing animals or
growing animal feed to natural forests or grassland, and by using the land for
organic farming, the vegetation will absorb another 40% of the carbon from the
atmosphere, according to a Dutch study.

However,
in the book, Supreme Master Ching Hai warns that if humans’ demand for meat
continues, there will be catastrophic consequences. The increasingly erratic weather world-wide
is a clear sign of more devastating disasters to come.

During the interview, Supreme Master Ching
Hai again and again emphasizes a simple cosmic principle, the law of cause and
effect, meaning every action provokes a reaction. This is a law of physics as well as a
spiritual law. It is stated in the
Bible, “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
Similarly, in Buddhism and Hinduism, this principle is called the law of
karma (retribution.) As Master Ching Hai
says, “This is very logical and very scientific. We don’t have to follow a religion or any
meditation group, any guru, in order to even see this.”

A compassionate vegetarian since childhood,
Supreme Master Ching Hai pleads to people during this interview to reflect on
the moral implications of meat-eating.
From raising animals in filthy, cramp crates to slaughtering them in the
most inhumane way, people have caused excruciating pain to these innocent
beings. But the cruelty goes even far
beyond the slaughter houses. Animal
farming has caused dire environmental pollution in the soil, water and
air. Precious marine lives have died
from chemical fertilizer and pesticide runoff. Vast areas of dead zone have
appeared in the oceans where no life can survive due to the toxins and the lack
of oxygen. Furthermore, massive-scale
fishing practice has already depleted 80% of all big fish in the ocean. In a word, to sustain our habit of
meat-eating (including seafood), we are not only causing insufferable pain to
the innocent animals but destroying our planet home.

Supreme Master Ching Hai minces no words,
“We might even lose the whole human race if we continue this way. There are even more sufferings awaiting us
after our death even, if we don’t stop our bloody, gruesome acts toward all
animals and man.”

To ensure that our future generations have
even a planet to live on, it is imperative that we as a human race make an
immediate swift to the vegan diet.

Ask by the host to expound on her proposal
to the government to enact vegan laws, Supreme Master Ching Hai enumerates
fool-proof reasons as to why this will benefit the people (aside from the
bigger picture of stopping global warming.) Such laws will surely help the people live
healthier and longer, protect the environment and the rainforest, save precious
resources such as water and land, and on top of all, save money for the
government and the people and boost the economy. She then urges all government leaders to
first set an example by becoming vegan themselves, and then, she believes, the
citizens will follow their example.
Supreme Master Ching Hai also urges the media to help push the
government to pass this important law.

When asked by Mr. Bean how humans can get
beyond war (a common concern of all conscionable world citizen,) Supreme Master
Ching Hai indicates that if the governments enact the vegan law, they will not
only save the planet from catastrophic destruction, but will bring about the
ultimate world peace. Supreme Master Ching Hai sincerely wishes that people
around the world would open their heart to perceive the truth. As she says, “The vegan law is the mark of a
more civilized society…when compassion or universal love is the norm and we will be above hatred and vengeance.”
And “if we do not kill animals, then we will not kill man, and peace will be
naturally achieved.”

Ever optimistic about the innate goodness in human nature,
Supreme Master Ching Hai says, “I do believe that our planet is on the
threshold of constructive change for the better of all the inhabitants,
including animals, trees, and plants.”
She reveals that all humans, animals, plants and even minerals have God
Quality within, which is the untarnished nature of the universal power of
love. The more loving, the more selfless
a being is, the more noble that being would be.

When people forsake meat and adopts a
benevolent vegan lifestyle, they will enter a higher consciousness because of
the love in them has manifested.
Collectively, they will create a peaceful atmosphere on earth. Then, as Supreme Master Ching Hai promises,
“the war-like atmosphere, war energies, will die down, and peace will be emerging
like a miracle.”

Mr. Bean asked Supreme Master Ching Hai
what individuals could do at this point of time. She suggested that they help promote the vegan
trend by passing out information, getting into the vegan food supply business,
plant vegetables, and most of all, write letters to leaders of the
government. She also urges people to
“intensively meditate for peace and for a vegan world” to help manifest this
noble goal.

Studies highlight growing urgency of preserving biodiversity.

A
review of eight studies conducted by 30 scientists from Australia, New
Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, published in the scientific journal
Pacific Conservation Biology, has found that climate change is worsening
the situation for flora and fauna in the Oceanian region, which is
already severely impacted by intensive agriculture,
habitat loss, and other problems.

Land,
marine, and freshwater environments are all affected. Recently, US
scientists at the University of Miami in Florida also drew attention to
the danger of ever-enlarging dead zones in the ocean, which are
shrinking the habitat of all marine species, including fish. Their study
evaluated the survival of blue marlin, billfish,
and tropical tuna, whose size and active movements necessitate large amounts of dissolved oxygen.

The
researchers found that not only are the fish being deprived by dead
zones of habitable regions, they are also being forced into waters
closer to the surface where they are more vulnerable to fishing.

University
of Miami researcher Dr. Jiangang Luo noted, (PhD) “In human terms, you
might describe it as if you were in a house on fire with ... only one
exit, then discovering you have a robber inside the house at the same
time.” Despite a commitment made in 2002 by governments across the globe
to protect 10% of the world's oceans and their inhabitants by 2012, the
agreements created so far cover only a little more than １%.

Lead
author of the Oceania study, Australian Professor Richard Kingsford of
the University of New South Wales, spoke of the urgency of addressing
these issues as he stated, "There are opportunities to mitigate some of
these impacts but it requires planning now, not when future generations
inherit the problem."
Many thanks, international scientists, for your efforts to inform the public of this alarming imbalance on our planet.

May
we join in acting now to implement Earth-saving practices that protect
and preserve all lives. Speaking with deep concern for the alarming loss
of biodiversity, Supreme Master Ching Hai during an August 2009
videoconference in Thailand reminded of what humanity must do in order
to ensure the continuation
of life on Earth.

Supreme Master Ching Hai :
It’s a very sad thing because our animal friends are suffering terribly
due to the effects of global warming. Many of the animals are dying or
at the brink of extinction or already gone due to unbearable
temperatures or they are being forced out of their habitats, just like
human climate refugees, except they are not nearly as equipped as we are
at adapting to new environments.

To ensure the peace and
comfort of all our animal co-inhabitants, we really should first cease
to consume them, any animals at all. Then, the wild areas and habitats
will be restored as will be the animals’ natural lives. That’s the best
way to protect them, to show our love to them.

http://www.pbl.nl/en/publications/2010/Rethinking_Global_Biodiversity_Strategies
http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2011/12/14/Fish-under-threat-in-ocean-dead-zones/UPI-95851323899140/#ixzz1gdl8CAv5
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/TechandScience/Story/STIStory_702598.html
http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2011/08/16/3294532.htm

Extra News
UK-based

India to eliminate animal dissection in medical school

The University Grants Commission, a government agency that maintains
educational standards across the nation, has announced the phasing out
of all animal dissection for experimental purposes at undergraduate and
post-graduate levels.

In its place will be humane methods such
as computerized, or virtual dissection, which has already been shown to
be less costly and more effective in the teaching of anatomy. Experts
have said that such a ban on the cruel and antiquated practice will save
the lives of at least 19 million innocent insects and animals every
academic year.

A big bravo and Heaven bless University Grants Commission of India, for your kind and righteous decision.
May
such noble initiatives inspire similarly compassionate actions in
societies across the globe, fostering dignity and respect for all our
fellow beings.

http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/article2704638.ece
http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/article2661412.ece

Vegan lifestyles: Bill Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres, Alicia Silverstone ...

Ten of the most influential people named for exemplary vegan lifestyles.

An article on the "This Dish Is Veg" website by author Kasey Minnis features ten prominent individuals who are leading the way in showing how plant-based fare can transform lives. Among these are former US President Bill Clinton, who has attributed his healthy weight loss and improved heart health to a near-vegan diet. Vegan comedienne and Emmy Award-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was also named for her encouragement of the vegan diet on her show, along with her website, "Going Vegan with Ellen" and recently announced plans to launch a vegan dog food line. Lee Fulkerson, director of the documentary "Forks Over Knives," was named as several celebrities publically credited the film with their decision to go vegan, while Ingrid Newkirk received recognition for her co-founding of the now-international organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Actress, producer and vegan mother Alicia Silverstone was noted for her authoring of "The Kind Diet" as well as her website, TheKindLife.com that helps those interested in adopting plant-based eating. Other influential vegans included Neal Barnard, MD, president and founder of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, whose peer-reviewed science highlights the health benefits of the vegan diet, and nutrition expert T. Colin Campbell, who has shown the clear relationship between consuming animal products and diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Many thanks, journalist Kasey Minnis for sharing these uplifting accomplishments as we applaud all those who have been recognized and many more for your exemplary and compassionate lifestyles. May we all soon make such caring vegan choices that bring both vibrant health and peace of mind.
